pay will be 30 base or 40 with hopes of another 10-20 for comissions.....its a churn and burn trial by fire and if you succeed in three years or stay for three years the rewards can be big!

NO, we won't because if you were only there for 6-9 months it means you couldnt handle it and we dont want anyone that leaves a position in 6-9 months, or even 1-2 years, you should have stayed there and learned something pussy!!!

Don't be a dick...sometimes people just need a little insight. That is no reason to trash them and what is even worse is that you are WRONG. I left a company after just one year...not because I am a pussy but because I knew the people I worked for were assholes and I was doing much more work than my sales mangers even thought about doing. I got sick of working for a place were I had a cap placed on my commissions and happily moved to pharma. So my advice is don't work for shitty people and don't listen to them either. Work hard and your numbers will speak for them self! Ignore the negative people with shitty ass attitudes and Good Luck!

Recruiters...the most worthless salespeople of all. Most are simply resume scanners and passers. Recruiters could not sell a bad resume? What did you used to sell? What if the company you worked only 9 months for was going to be bought out, your position eliminated, and you jumped ship for a job? Why not let the candidate describe or "sell" the reasons why you actually were a "hunter" with big balls and smelled the greenbacks somewhere else. Did I mention I hate recruiters period? I would rather talk to a used car salesman than these worthless pricks...most could not sell there way out of a wet paper bag. Why large medical device companies pay them for resume passing is beyond me. Maybe if I can't beat them...join them?

Actually I sold copiers for Ricoh a few years back. Hated every minute of it by the way(that is another topic). Medical companies will look at year after a year. I did it for 10 months and am now selling medical devices(4 years and running).

I work for IKON and of course, we're all the "same company" now with rules of engagement, however at least in my area, the Ricoh reps always tell me they're really happy and Ricoh has a great corporate culture that is focused on their employees and their sales.
It's not like Xerox or Canon that sell based on their name only.

Sounds like someone who recruiters won't give the time of day to, so he is bitter. Recruiters have to work with only the best candidates or their clients won't use them again.
For a recruiter to seriously work with you you need to be; Currently employed, top 10-15% of sales force of a well known respected co., at current co. 2+ years, no more than 2 jobs past 5 years.

All the other "candidates" that bash recruiters are just bitter losers who don't get the fact that they are not paying recruiters, the hiring co's are!!

Previous "Lanier" rep with only 1 yr. I excelled selling in a tough market...sold my ass off. Base back then was 25k (5yrs ago). Continue with Ricoh and it will pay off. Medical/Pharma loves this type of expericence.

Well, i still don't get the no more than 2 jobs out of college. i have been out of college for 8 years and have had 4 jobs, but each one was for significantly more money and more prestige, to the point where i can realistically make 175 next year, but maybe they don't care about that so much as they do about job hopping...

Another ex Lanier rep here. I was only there 6 months out of college was harassed by my DM and left. I now work for one of the largest medical companies in the world. You don't have to have the multiple years you just have to know how to spin it.

I think this is right. One of the main things the hiring manager is going to look for is a record of success. If you can show this, you will get his interest.

Then you just have to convince him that this company is where you want to be. It helps if you can show that each move has been a progression towards a goal of getting the opportunity you are applying for.
