Does anyone know of any good recruiters to get me out of Pharma and back into b2b and still make some good money? This industry is sinking fast.

You are already in Pharma, try getting into medical device sales. I know people who work with doctor's in the operating room and make $$$$$MAJOR BANK$$$$. Your previous pharma experience could really help you get your foot in the door...Good Luck!

I hate my f*%$ng job. Every post I read it seems that everyone feels the same way I do. If anybody truly likes their job please tell me. I want to do what you do!

It is hard to find the perfect job -- most jobs involve work. But I do know a few that seem to like what they do. One friend is in med device sales and he really likes it. On the other hand, even though he makes a lot of cash, he complains about the late night calls, weekend calls, etc.

I would love to get out of Pharma myself I can’t stand the bull. I want to really sell, not cater useless lunches 30 sec with a doc, and now that take away our dinners.

Weird, I have like 20 friends at my b2b sales company DYING to "break" into pharma.....whats with all the hype but yet the downplay of the reps allready in there? With our company, your at 50k-70k a year plus monthly commissions. (usually 7-8 hundred a month). Will pharma take my reps immedietly for 100 K a year?

100K total compensation, maybe...but not 100K base immediately. Most newcomers will get a base of 50-65K D.O.E. I think the key is to find a sales position that has uncapped commissions where your individual work ethic is rewarded.

Yes it usually takes a little while to get into the 100k range. When I left I was told by my regional that I had one of the top bases at 97k. I was a specialty rep in a mid-size pharma.
Note: we were called specialty because we called on specialists, but we did not really have a specialty product. Reps in real specialty divisions probably make a higher base after they have been there a while.

80% of Pharma Reps make combined 50-80K and most in the 50-60K range. Why get into a dying industry no matter how "presigious it sounds." Just ask your personal physician if he listens to reps at all?

Better yet, ask the fat receptionist. Since pharma reps have to feed all the cows in the practice, she can tell you whether or not the office even allows reps to speak to physicians. (Most receptionists just take your samples and your PDA back to the doc for signatures.) This is a dying industry, and you do not want to get into it. The stress is unbelievable, and even if you have a great territory and make good numbers, eventually your territory bottoms/plateaus out and all you will hear is "Why aren't you increasing the number of prescriptions?" Another factor is whether or not your product has managed care coverage. If not, you will really suffer, especially now that docs have the capability to see what is covered and what isn't by looking at their own handheld device.
I was downsized a few months ago, but I have been looking to get out for over 2 years. Now, a lot of the stress is gone, but I still have to find a job.
It will not be in pharma. In 5-10 years reps will be a memory.

do you REALLY have to feed the cows of the practice ? ....geeze...I went on a ride along earlier this week...we didnt have to feed anyone ...but the job seemed so simple ...drop things off and have the doc sign ...most the time we were just cruising around it seemed. I hope they advance me.
